The Pharmaceuticals Advisory Committee (PAC) has reviewed the protocols concerning 70 innovative medicines for 15 different conditions and the Commission in 2022 plans to review and create a further 15 protocols concerning at least 18 other medicines, the Health Insurance Organisation (HIO) said in a statement.
Referring to an article published by the newspaper "Phileleftheros", dated 25 January 2022, on the issue, the OAI notes that only 16 requests for the inclusion of new drugs in the SHI have not yet been evaluated by the SEF.
Therefore, it says, the claim that "600 drugs for serious diseases remain outside the SHI" does not correspond to reality.
