Britain's economy recorded a record growth rate of 7.5% in 2021 due to the easing of restrictive measures against COVID, according to official data released on Friday, but analysts warn that high inflation creates uncertainty about the outlook for 2022. [BR][BR] Growth, which was the fastest since data began being recorded in 1948, follows a record contraction of 9.4% recorded in 2020, Britain's Office for National Statistics (ONS) said in a statement.
The ONS says the UK economy grew by 1.0% in the fourth quarter despite the onset of the Omicron variant, showing similar growth to the third quarter.
