[CNA] Bomb explosion in a shop in Limassol

An explosion that occurred at dawn in a shop owned by a 41-year-old woman, located in the area of Petrou and Pavlou, in Limassol, is attributed to a high-powered explosive device.

According to police, the explosion occurred at 1.50am and upset residents in the area, where members of the police and a bomb squad arrived.

Investigations determined that the explosion was due to a high-powered explosive device placed on the front of the store, causing extensive damage to the entrance and the interior, as well as to vehicles parked nearby.

The examinations of the Limassol CID continue.
