At 60.4% the fullness of the dams is currently at 60.4%, corresponding to 75.8 million cubic meters of water, according to data from the Department of Water Development. Last year's corresponding occupancy rate was 73.2%, with 212.758 million cubic meters of water. Moreover, as Marios Hadjikostis, Technical Engineer A at the Water Development Department, told CNA, overflows of small dams are expected within the next week.

This year "has been a good year" and "we are halfway" to reaching the goal of 75% overall fullness by March, Hajicostis noted. If the target is not met, he noted, the quantities allocated to irrigation will be down from last year.

He also told CNA that the weather is unpredictable and if another low barometer, similar to that of New Year's Day, comes along, it is certain that the target will be exceeded
