[CNA] 75% of professional footballers want the World Cup every 4 years, says PASP

75% of professional footballers want FIFA to continue its World Cup every four years, according to the Pancyprian Football Players Association (PASP), which cites results of an opinion survey conducted by FIFPRO among more than 1.000 players through the national football associations, including Cyprus First Division players who received the relevant FIFPRO workload questionnaire from PASP.

In a statement the PASP said the survey was carried out last November following FIFA's proposal to hold the World Cup every two years and added that when the proposal was first submitted, FIFPRO said that any plans to change the match schedule must have the agreement of the players.
