The Limassol Criminal Court today imposed concurrent prison sentences, the longest being 16 years, on a 59-year-old man, who was found guilty of the offences of unlawful intercourse with a young man under 13 years of age.
According to a court statement, the offences were committed between 2005 and 2014, with the 59-year-old admitting that he sexually abused the child. Stressing the seriousness of the offences, the Court of Cassation indicated that this type of offences are not only against morals, but offend and sometimes crush the personality and psyche of the victim and should therefore be treated seriously.
