Ramandeep Singh, aged 31 from India, died in a fatal road accident that occurred last Wednesday afternoon on Makarios Street in Clear Road, police said on Sunday.
According to a police statement today, the accident occurred at 6.15pm when the 31-year-old, while cycling, at some point on the road, under circumstances under investigation, entered an open earthen area and subsequently fell into a riverbed, about six metres deep.
He was then taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where the doctor on duty pronounced him dead.
A necropsy was performed on the body last Friday by a medical examiner, who found that his death was caused by a severe head injury due to a road traffic accident.
