The Famagusta District Court today issued a detention order for five days against a 30-year-old man for facilitating police investigations into an ongoing case of possession of Class A and B controlled drugs (cocaine and cannabis), use of Class A and B controlled drugs, possession of a device specially designed for the use of Class B controlled drugs and supply of Class A and B controlled drugs by another person.
As Famagusta Police Department spokesman Steve Theodoulou told CNA, "members of the YKAN, following a tip-off, stopped a vehicle driven by the 30-year-old on a road in the Famagusta area shortly before seven o'clock on Tuesday evening, February 16. The man was subjected to a check and in his possession were found seven packets of white powder believed to be cocaine, weighing a total of 3,5 grams,
