The Larnaca District Court today issued an eight-day detention order against a 29-year-old man, who was arrested yesterday to facilitate police investigations into a case of cocaine, weighing 265 grams, found hidden in motorcycle parts sent to Cyprus.
A statement issued by the Police Headquarters Communication Office said that "the 29-year-old man was arrested on a court warrant, following evidence obtained after examinations by the YKAN, after the detection and seizure of the quantity of cocaine".
It is added that "after evaluating information about the arrival of a package in Cyprus, which may have contained drugs, members of the Police, in cooperation with members of the Customs Department, located and inspected this package, following a search at the offices of a courier company in Larnaca".
