The Famagusta District Court today imposed an eight-month prison sentence on a 23-year-old man, after finding him guilty in a case involving an injury to a peer, committed in an apartment in Xylotympou on August 15 last year.
As Steve Theodoulou, spokesman for the Famagusta Police Directorate, told CNA, "the 23-year-old's injury had been caused in the abdomen by the use of a sharp object while the victim and the perpetrator were in an apartment where they were staying together."
He added that "the Famagusta District Court after a hearing found the 23-year-old guilty and today he was given an 8-month prison sentence for the offence of wounding".
