Global cases are down 20% in the last week, compared to the previous seven days. There is also a 4% decrease in Covid deaths for the same period, according to statistics published on the Worldometers website.
In total, 5,834,558 people have died from coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic, and 412,268,326 cases have been reported. Currently 73,511,924 people around the world are sick. Of these, 87,022 are in serious or critical condition (0.1%).
On Sunday, 1,494,799 new cases were detected worldwide, while another 5,722 deaths occurred.
The highest number of cases since the beginning of the pandemic has been in the United States, with 79,325,576 and a total of 943,411 deaths.
