Yesterday, April 29, Turkey closed its airspace to FlyOne Armenia, ArmenPress reported.

"The Turkish aviation authorities cancelled permission to fly to Europe through Turkish airspace without prior notice for reasons unknown to us," Flyone Armenia Board of Directors Chairman Aram Ananyan told ArmenPress.

This is not the first time Turkey has closed its airspace to FlyOne - a similar situation [URL=HTTPS://EN.ARMRADIO.AM/2022/05/05/TURKEY-DENIES-FLYONE-ARMENIA-OVERFLIGHT-PERMIT/]was
in May 2022, about a month later, Turkey again allowed overflights over its territory.

For information: FlyOne is a Moldovan low-cost airline, founded in 2016. The parent company, S.R.L. FLY ONE, which includes the Armenian FlyOne Armenia LLC, the Romanian FlyOne Airlines LLC and the subsidiary FlyOne LLC. The fleet consists of 5 aircraft of Airbus family. The flight numbers of the Moldovan company FlyOne have the code 5F and the Armenian one - 3F.

FlyOne is currently experiencing serious difficulties: many flights are cancelled, the schedule is often adjusted, passengers are transferred to the flights of other airlines. [FOR EXAMPLE, YESTERDAY, AFTER TURKEY IMPOSED A BAN, FLIGHT 3F928 (PARIS-YEREVAN) HAD TO TURN AROUND AT THE TURKISH BORDER AND LAND IN CHISINAU. THE PLANE BELONGS TO MONGOLIAN AIRWAYS AND WAS APPARENTLY RENTED BY FLYONE. THE PASSENGERS WERE NOT DISEMBARKED, THE FLIGHT NUMBER WAS CHANGED TO MGW928, AFTER WHICH THE COMPANY MANAGED TO BYPASS THE BAN AND FLEW TO YEREVAN FROM CHISINAU WITH A 4-HOUR DELAY.

According to the latest available accounting data, FlyOne has a net loss of just over €1 million for the year 2020. In 2021, they were able to reduce it to €332,000. The number of employees decreased from 162 to 121.

Recall that FlyOne has scheduled flights from Yerevan to Larnaca starting May 16. The company may have planned to use Turkish airspace on this route. If the ban remains, FlyOne will be forced to either cancel the flights or operate them under a different code, or fly overflights using the airspace of Syria, Iran, etc.
