Russia has abolished the visa regime for Georgian citizens ?? Beginning May 15, Georgian citizens will be able to enter Russia for up to 90 days without a visa.
In addition, Russia has also lifted the ban on flights by Russian airlines to Georgia. Recall that Russia unilaterally suspended direct flights with Georgia in the summer of 2019.
The Federal Air Transport Agency notes that Russian airlines need to obtain permission to fly from Georgia and, accordingly, Georgian airlines from Russia. If the necessary permits are obtained, the flights can start next week.
If the air communication is resumed, there may be another option on how to get to/from Russia to Cyprus. For now, only Wizz Air, which flies between Larnaca and Kutaisi, connects Georgia and Cyprus by direct flights.
