I express my deep satisfaction with the double upgrade of the Cypriot economy and the restoration of our country's credit rating to investment grade by Moody's after 12 years.

This was achieved through the sacrifices of the Cypriot people, whom I thank warmly, as well as through the prudent, responsible and disciplined fiscal policy of recent years.

The recovery of the investment grade will translate into prospects and opportunities, by attracting quality investments and creating new jobs.

This is the path we have been following non-negotiably as a Government for the seven months we have been governing the country and this is how we will continue to govern. We will continue to shield our economy and intensify its dynamic course.

Only through such responsible and far from populist policies can the growth, security and prosperity of the Cypriot people and the Government's ability to implement effective social policy be ensured.

Our main priority remains the support of the vulnerable strata of society and the strengthening of the middle class, alongside the promotion of entrepreneurship.

Fiscal stability and prudent management of public finances are the key principles underlying the first State Budget of our administration.

We are implementing an ambitious governance programme, which includes policies and reforms in priority areas that improve the lives of citizens and reward the great efforts of all of us.
