I wish to congratulate the team of our athletes who participated in the Olympic Games in Paris. I congratulate the entire delegation of our country, the coaches and escorts who represented the Republic of Cyprus in the top sporting event and as faithful servants of "fair play" have earned the respect and admiration of all of us.
As I promised them when I visited them in the Olympic village, I will soon meet with them, not only to congratulate them one by one, but also to discuss with them the issues that concern them and how to take Cyprus Sport even higher.
Both I personally and the Government as a whole will stand by our athletes who, among many other things, are a role model for the new generation and show us all the way of dedication and continuous effort for improvement and distinction.
We are proud of all of you.
