The Government welcomes the Moneyval report on combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
The answer to our country's situation and the strengthening of institutions comes from yet another internationally competent institution.
MONEYVAL, in its December 2021 report, notes that Cyprus continues to improve as it complies with all 40 parameters it examines. On 36 of them fully, or to a large extent, and partially on only 4.
Note that even this report does not fully capture the achievements, as the organisation itself records that measures have been taken in important areas over the past year which have not yet been assessed by the international organisation.
What is recorded in the MONEYVAL progress report is yet another confirmation of the correctness and effectiveness of the measures taken by the Government to strengthen the framework for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
