More than 45,000 pupils are expected to benefit from the package of support measures, with the total amount of the measures amounting to €9.5 million, and which aims to provide practical support to young people and their families for the purchase of school equipment, tablets, computers and transport costs.
In more detail, the package of measures "At every start, together!"

In this case, families will be able to apply for the €150 allowance from the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (MESY) through the directorates of the schools their children attend. Up to 5 900 families will benefit from measures C and D. The budgetary cost is estimated at €900,000.
E) Discount on public passenger transport fares for students of General Secondary and Technical Secondary Education. This measure will have the effect of reducing the cost of annual fares for each pupil from €200 to €30 and monthly fares from €10 to €5. Some 20,000 pupils will benefit from the measure. It should be noted that primary school pupils do not pay any fees. The additional budgetary cost is estimated at €1 million. This measure is expected to make a substantial contribution, beyond the obvious support to family budgets, to both the traffic problem and the green transition.
Every new beginning opens the door to hope and new opportunities, especially when it comes to the future of children and the beginning of their school year. The new school year begins with the government by the side of students as, by supporting the youth of today, we ensure a more hopeful tomorrow for all.
