The President of the Republic Mr Nicos Christodoulides will accompany the President of the European Parliament Ms Roberta Metsola to the port of Larnaca on Tuesday, April 2.

Ms Metsola, who will arrive in Cyprus on April 1, will have a private meeting with President Christodoulides in the evening of the same day.

On 2 April, at 11:45, she will go to the port of Larnaca, accompanied by President Christodoulides, to visit the facilities and see the work being carried out in the framework of the Republic of Cyprus' initiative concerning the Amalthea project for the sea corridor for the delivery of humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Gaza.

Then, at around 12:00, the President of the Republic and the President of the European Parliament will go to the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (RSRC), where they will have a tour of the Centre and make statements to the media.

Ms Metsola will then depart from Cyprus.

The working visit of the President of the European Parliament demonstrates once again the European Union's active interest in the Republic of Cyprus' internationally recognised and supported initiative, in the context of which efforts are continuing to further increase the flow of humanitarian aid to the civilian population in Gaza.
