The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, had a telephone conversation today with the Greek Prime Minister, Mr Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
During their telephone conversation, the Greek Prime Minister thanked the President of the Republic of Cyprus for his immediate response to Greece's request to send a Cypriot delegation to assist in the efforts to extinguish the fire raging in Attica.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Cyprus informed the Greek Prime Minister of all the coordinated actions taken by the competent services of the Republic of Cyprus to set up a mission and charter an aircraft for the immediate transfer of the mission to Attica, in order to assist in the efforts to extinguish the fire.
President Christodoulides stressed that Cyprus is and will always stand by Greece and expressed the hope that the firestorm will be brought under control as soon as possible.
