[PIO] Written examination for the Professional Driving Licence for the category Taxi

The Department of Road Transport of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, announces that it is accepting applications for participation in the written examination for the Professional Driver's Licence for the Taxi category.

Application forms are available at the provincial offices of the Department of Road Transport as well as on the Department's website at http://rtd.mcw.gov.cy.

Applications must be submitted to the Department of Road Transport counters in all cities no later than March 18, 2022. No applications will be accepted after that date.

The examination is scheduled to be held in the month of April 2022. The exact date as well as the venue will be announced at a later stage. It should be noted that the examinations will be held subject to the condition that this is permitted by the Decree of the Minister of Health establishing measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus during the examination period.

The fee for participation in the written examination is set at €70.

It should be noted that all persons who drive or wish to drive a taxi of any category must have a Professional Taxi Driver's Licence.

The syllabus for the above written tests is contained in the book 'Taxi Driver Training - First Edition 2012', which can be obtained from bookshops. Those interested are advised to study this book carefully in order to be able to successfully pass the above exams.
