The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier will pay a visit tomorrow, Tuesday, at 8:45 a.m. to the Archbishop Makarios III High School in Platy Aglantzia, to observe the pilot German language learning programme, the implementation of which was launched for the first time in the educational life of Cyprus during this school year.
The German President will be received at the school by a Cypriot delegation headed by the Director General of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, Mrs. Marina Ioannou Hasapi, as the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Mrs. Athena Michaelidou, will be absent abroad.
The inclusion of the visit to a school, to observe the pilot project, in the German President's programme is an indication of the strengthening of the bilateral relations between Cyprus and Germany in the field of education that has been observed in recent years.
