[PIO] Visit of the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare to the House of Women

A scheduled visit to the House of Women was made today by the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Ms Marilena Evangelou. As part of the visit, Ms Evangelou was informed about the progress in the implementation of the programmes managed by the Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family (SPAVO), as well as the challenges faced by the Association.

Ms. Evangelou, among others, informed the President of SPAVO Ms. Maria Kousios and its Scientific Director Ms. Andri Andronikou that clear instructions have been given so that the Minimum Guaranteed Income is not cut off from women who are accommodated in SPAVO shelters, recognizing the unique and difficult conditions experienced by each woman-victim of violence.

He also stressed that the State Ministry of Social Welfare will continue to support all SPAVO programmes, and congratulated the Board of Directors of the Association, as well as the scientific staff for the work they carry out.
