The Deputy Ministry of Culture, in the context of transparency and good administration, announces the results of the Thymeli Plan for the funding of professional theatrical productions that will take place during the second half of 2024. In relation to the call for proposals, a total of 47 applications were submitted by 25 theatre organisations, of which eight are newly established.

The final score is a function of the results of the evaluation of the applications, which combine both qualitative and quantitative criteria. The proposals were evaluated by a five-member Application Evaluation Committee (E.A.A.), appointed for this purpose by the Secretary of State for Culture.

At the end of the evaluation process and on the basis of the provisions of the Plan, which involve a limitation on the number of proposals per body receiving funding and on the total number of approved productions per semester, the 18 applications from a total of 12 bodies that managed to secure the highest score will receive state funding for one or more theatrical productions, according to the intensity and funding ceiling set out in the Plan.

The 18 bodies will receive additional funding for those productions Selected entities will be disbursed the amount of funding they have secured on the basis of the terms and conditions as set out in the THYMELI Plan.

It is emphasized that all applicants will receive a written response on the ranking of their application, as well as the detailed score they have secured. Entities whose theatrical productions have been approved must notify the State Department in writing whether or not they accept the grant, no later than June 14, 2024

At Table I lists the results of the Thymeli Plan with the 18 approved theatre productions, the tours and the amounts allocated for their realization during the second half of 2024. In case of non-acceptance of a grant from an approved production, the next approved production will move up one place in the ranking.

The final table of grant amounts will be published after the acceptance or non-acceptance of grants from the 18 approved productions. The State Secretary of Culture will then be in a position to proceed with the funding of some of the successful proposals with the amount of €20,000, as specified in the Plan.

For transparency purposes, the final table with the total score of all proposals is posted on the website of the State Secretary of Culture at the link here.
