The Training Programme for New Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on "Etiquette and Culinary Protocol of Social-Gastronomic Events" was successfully held on Thursday 9 December 2021 at the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus (AXIK), in the framework of the cooperation between AXIK and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
The programme was attended by new diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who will take up duties abroad. The aim of the programme was to develop the necessary knowledge and skills of the participants to successfully respond to social-culinary events where they are invited to represent the Republic of Cyprus or to organise similar hospitality on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus in the context of their duties. The programme included a theoretical part covering topics related to Etiquette/Protocol during social-culinary events and the Diplomacy of Gastronomy, followed by an experiential workshop at the EXIK Training Restaurant with a simulation of a four-stage Christmas dinner, practical demonstration and practice.
