[PIO] The State Secretary for European Affairs will participate in the Prague European Summit

Deputy Minister of State for European Affairs Marilena Raouna left for Prague today to participate as a speaker in a panel discussion at the Prague European Summit 2024, which will take place between 13-14 June.

The Prague European Summit is organised by the Institute of International Relations and the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, under the patronage of the President of the Czech Republic, Mr. Petr Pavel. The Prague European Summit is a strategic platform aimed at addressing common pan-European issues and challenges.

In the framework of the Summit, the Deputy Minister will participate as a speaker in a panel discussion on "Energy security first - pragmatic decisions affecting climate ambitions". The discussion will focus on Europe's energy security.

In her intervention, the Deputy Minister will present the current situation in Cyprus in the energy sector and will focus, inter alia, on the role that Cyprus can play in the European Union's efforts to address the energy crisis.

On the sidelines of the Summit, Ms Rauna will have a meeting with her Czech counterpart, Minister of European Affairs Mr. Jan Lipavský, during which they will discuss, inter alia, current issues facing the European Union, including the strategic agenda for 2024-2029 and the future of Europe.
