[PIO] The Speaker of the House of Representatives will participate in the Second Parliamentary Session of the International Platform for Crimea

Speaker of the House of Representatives Anita Demetriou will travel to Prague on Monday to participate in the Second Parliamentary Session of the International Platform for Crimea, hosted by the Czech House of Representatives on Tuesday, 24 October 2023, in response to an invitation from the Speakers of the Czech and Ukrainian Parliaments, Ms Markéta Pekarová Adamová and Mr Markéta Pekarová Adamová. Ruslan Stefanchuk, respectively.

The Summit will be attended by a large number of Speakers of Parliaments of Member States of the European Union and other countries supporting the International Crimea Platform.

The Summit is expected to address issues related to the current situation in the Crimean Peninsula and the coordination of international efforts to restore human rights and international legitimacy in the region, as well as international security issues.

The international impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the economic and other sanctions imposed on Russia and the issue of food security will also be discussed.
