The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Andreas Zagli and a delegation of the Cyprus Basketball Federation (CBC) to inform her on the progress of preparations in view of the co-organization of FIBA Eurobasket 2025 by the Republic of Cyprus.
The FIBA Secretary General informed about the importance of the sporting event, noting that the impact for the country will be positive, since the revenue from the event is expected to be at least three times higher than the investment that is estimated to be made.
The KOC President said that this event is the biggest sporting event to take place in the republic since its establishment and, within the framework of this event, world-class athletes are expected to be hosted. At the same time, he pointed out that this sporting event is a good opportunity to establish the republic as a sports tourism destination. In particular, he noted that an amount of approximately €6 million is expected to be invested for the event, in addition to the amount that will be invested for the upgrading of the infrastructure, which will continue to be used after the completion of the event.
The President of the Parliament, after thanking the FIBA Secretary General for his presence, referred to the very good results of the Cypriot basketball teams and especially to the successes of the women's teams in the recent past.

Finally, the President of the Parliament confirmed her long-standing support to the KOK and wished every success in the preparation process of the whole event, so that it will be a success and promote sport in the country.
