[PIO] The Speaker of the House of Representatives received the Qatari Ambassador to Cyprus in a farewell meeting

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs.Anita Demetriou, received today in a farewell meeting the Ambassador of Qatar to Cyprus, Mr.Ali Yousuf Abdulrahman Al-Mulla, on the occasion of the completion of his mandate in Cyprus.

Mrs. Demetriou thanked the Ambassador for the excellent cooperation between the House of Representatives and the Embassy of Qatar during his term of office and praised his substantial contribution to the further strengthening of bilateral relations, especially at the parliamentary level, as the expressed wish of the Speaker of the House to her Qatari counterpart. The next steps towards upgrading the dialogue and exchanges between the Qatar Consultative Council and the House of Representatives were discussed.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the hospitable environment in Cyprus and underlined the common features in the culture of the two countries. He assured the Speaker of the House of Representatives of his readiness to continue working for the further development of relations between his country and the Republic of Cyprus and the two Parliaments.
