The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs Anita Demetriou, received today, Wednesday, 12 January 2021, the President and representatives of the Association of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ACCA).
In the context of the meeting, views and suggestions were exchanged on issues concerning the state of the Cypriot economy and the challenges it faces, tax transformation, public sector reform, the fight against corruption and tax returns. In particular, the President of the Hellenic Chamber of Deputies expressed the Association's readiness to strengthen and expand cooperation with the House of Representatives on issues of common interest.
For her part, the Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed the importance of the exchange of expertise and know-how between the House of Representatives and the Hellenic Chamber of Deputies in the context of decision-making and passing of legislation, as well as in addressing the challenges facing the Cypriot economy.
Finally, the Speaker of the House of Representatives assured the representatives of the ACFA that, within the framework of her own competences, she will take every possible initiative in relation to the issues of concern to the association.
