The Speaker of the House of Representatives had a meeting today with a four-member delegation of the Cyprus Nursing and Midwifery Council, during which issues concerning the sector were discussed.
In the context of the meeting, the difficulty of finding a sufficient number of nurses and midwives to cover both existing and future needs of public and private hospitals was highlighted and an exchange of views was held on possible solutions to ensure that the level of training of nurses and midwives is maintained at the same high level.
For her part, the President of the House of Representatives expressed the will of both herself personally and the entire House to assist in finding ways to mitigate the problem, always focusing on the provision of high quality health services for the benefit of the patient.
