During the meeting, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, the Speaker of the House of Representatives pointed out the special emphasis that the House attaches to the excellent cooperation with the Maronite religious community of Cyprus, both at the level of the Representative in the House and at the level of the Church and social groups.

Mrs. Demetriou stressed the great value of the Maronite tradition, culture and cultural heritage for Cyprus, referred to the actions to support the stranded and resettled people in Kormakitis and Karpasia and to the efforts to solve the problem in the villages of Agia Marina and Asoma, which are under military zone status and the access of the legal owners to them is prohibited by the occupation authorities.
