[PIO] The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mrs. Anita Demetriou received a delegation of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network Branch

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Mrs Anita Demetriou held a meeting today with a delegation of the Cyprus Chapter of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, consisting of the co-chairs of the network's board Dr. Erato Kozakou Markoullis and Dr. Kostas N. Papanikolas and Mr. Charalambos Theopeptou.

In the context of the meeting, the President of the Parliament was informed about the progress in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted by the Member States of the United Nations in 2015, at the heart of which is the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as part of the joint "plan" of developed and developing countries to promote peace, prosperity of people and the planet, as well as the Paris Climate Agreement.

In the same context, views were exchanged on strengthening cooperation between the Cyprus Branch of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network and the House of Representatives on the mobilization of scientific and technological know-how, the search for practical sustainable development solutions, the promotion of policies and the Sustainable Development Goals.
