King Abdullah II of Jordan will pay an official visit to Cyprus on 17 December, during which he will hold talks with President Nicos Anastasiades.
The President of the Republic will receive the King of Jordan in the afternoon of Friday, 17 December, at the Presidential Palace.
A private meeting will follow, after which President Anastasiades and King Abdullah will hold extended talks between the delegations of the two countries.
During the talks, President Anastasiades will provide an update on developments in the Cyprus issue and will discuss, inter alia, bilateral relations, actions to address the effects of climate change and the President's initiative for the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East region, efforts to address the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and regional developments.
In the context of the visit, the President of the Republic will present the King of Jordan with the Grand Medal of the Order of Macarius III and King Abdullah II will present the President with his country's highest honour.
In addition, on the sidelines of the meeting between President Anastasiades and the King of Jordan, the following will be signed.
In the evening the President of the Republic will host an official dinner in honour of King Abdullah II.
