[PIO] The President of the Republic met with the President of the European Commission at the Presidential Palace

The President of the Republic Mr.Nikos Christodoulides met this morning with the President of the European Commission Mrs.Ursula von der Leyen, who is visiting Cyprus.

President Christodoulides received Mrs Ursula von der Leyen at the Presidential Palace at 10 am, followed by a private meeting.

This meeting precedes the two Presidents' visit to the port of Larnaca, where they will inspect the facilities that are part of the Initiative's plan to establish a maritime humanitarian aid corridor in Gaza.

The two Presidents will then proceed to the premises of the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre, where they will inspect its facilities, followed by statements to the media.
