[PIO] The President of the Republic goes to Lebanon

The President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr Nicos Christodoulides, will travel to Lebanon today, April 8, where he will hold a meeting with the leadership of the country's government to discuss the increased flows of irregular migrants, mainly Syrians, from Lebanon to Cyprus.

In particular, President Christodoulides will depart for Beirut this morning, where he will be received on arrival by the Prime Minister of Lebanon. Najib Mikati.

They will then proceed to the Prime Minister's Palace, where an official welcoming ceremony will take place, followed by a private meeting between President Christodoulides and Prime Minister Mikati. Afterwards, the President of the Republic will hold extended talks between the delegations of the two countries.

Afterwards, the President of the Republic will have a meeting with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Mr. Nabih Berri.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Beirut by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Interior, the Government Spokesman, the Chief of the National Guard, the Commander of the Cyprus Intelligence Service and National Security Advisor, the Head of the President's Diplomatic Office and officials.

The President of the Republic will return to Cyprus in the afternoon of the same day.
