[PIO] The President of the Republic attended the opening of a wheelchair basketball match

The President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Christodoulides attended today the opening of the wheelchair basketball match organized by the American International School in Cyprus and the Wheelchair Basketball Committee of the Cyprus Basketball Federation, at the "Kostas Papayellinas" Stadium.

In his address to the event, President Christodoulides said.

When we see the mental strength of all these athletes, I think that too many words are poverty.

That is why I am here today, to announce that as a State, through the Cyprus Basketball Federation, we will announce financial incentives so that more teams in Cyprus will organize teams so that a regular basketball league can be held on a wheelchair."
