[PIO] The President of the Parliament sent a message of condolence for the deadly attack at the University of Prague

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Anita Demetriou sent a message of condolence today for the deadly attack at the University of Prague, through the electronic book of condolences opened by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Nicosia.

In her message, the Speaker of the Parliament expresses deep sorrow and shock at the tragic event that has struck the Czech Republic.

We strongly condemn all forms of violence and terrorism, the Speaker of the Parliament stresses. As political leaders, she says, we must join forces and intensify our efforts to effectively tackle this scourge and shape a future that guarantees peace, security and prosperity for our citizens.

In conclusion, the President of Parliament expresses personally and on behalf of all Members of Parliament her sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the Czech Republic and its friendly people and heartfelt wishes for a speedy recovery of the injured and the return of calm and normality to the country.
