The President of the Republic Mr. Nikos Christodoulides attended today an event held at the premises of the Association "Akaki Hellenism Reading Room", on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Association.
During the event, the President of the Republic presented honorary plaques to the descendants of the five founders of the Association, while earlier he delivered the commemorative speech at the memorial service of the founders and members of the Association, which was held at the Holy Church of Chryseleousis Akaki.
In his brief address during the event, President Christodoulides referred to the excellent work carried out by the Association, adding that the residents of the community should be proud of the Association's contribution and expressing congratulations to the continuators of the Association's work.
He added that several events are held annually by the Association "Read Hellenism" and expressed joy and honor that some of them are held under its auspices.
He also pointed out that, in addition to what the community will claim from the COA for stadiums, the next Council of Ministers will raise the issue of the concession of the building of the former Cooperative to the community.
Finally, President Christodoulides noted that the symbolic amount of 20 thousand euros will be given by the Presidency of the Republic for the needs of holding events for the 100th anniversary of the Association.
