[PIO] The Ministry of Health organised a one-day training seminar for Dermatographers and Body Piercers

The Ministry of Health, with a view to ensuring public health, organized on Saturday 24 February 2024, in Limassol, an all-day training seminar for tattoo and body piercing artists.

The seminar was attended by more than 100 participants from all provinces of Cyprus. Upon completion of the programme, the participants were given a "Certificate of Training" and a "Certificate of Training in First Aid, CPR and AED use", which are required to be presented together with the Application submitted to the Board of Registration of Tattoo and Body Piercing Artists by persons applying for registration in the said Register.

The topics of the training programme included, among others, speeches by health professionals on:

1. Decontamination-Sanitisation-Anti-Sanitisation
2. Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with Practical Exercise
3. First Aid
4. HIV Infection, Viral Hepatitis (Hepatitis B and C) and Skin and Soft Tissue Infections
5. Restrictions on the use of chemicals in tattoo inks and special provisions
6. Anatomy and Skin Diseases
