[PIO] The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry announces the Grant Scheme for the Digital Upgrading of Enterprises

The Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry (MoEIC) announces the approval of the Digital Business Upgrading Plan, which is included in the Thaleia Programme 2021-2027 and co-funded by the EU's European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Republic of Cyprus under the Cohesion Policy in Cyprus. The total budget for the programming period 2021-2027 amounts to €20 million.

The Digital Business Upgrade Project is also included in the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan (CRP) for the period 2021 - 2026, which will be funded by the EU Recovery and Resilience Mechanism with a total budget of €10 million.

Therefore, the total amount allocated for the needs of the Project is €30 million. and the calls are planned as follows:

The scheme aims to encourage investment in digital entrepreneurship and to enhance the degree of integration of digital technology in businesses located or to be located in areas of Cyprus where effective control is exercised by the Republic of Cyprus.

Eligible to participate in the Scheme are existing SMEs that will implement expenditure in the category of digital upgrading (including e-commerce), as well as new SMEs whose investment proposal necessarily involves e-commerce/store and/or application of advanced digital technologies.

The grant intensity is 50% of the eligible budget of the proposal with a maximum grant amount of €50.000 and may cover expenditure on:

- Equipment required for digital upgrading

- Off the shelf software

- Specialised software

- IT systems, programmes and services

- As well as other digital upgrading costs not directly related to IT systems.

In the case of enterprises established or to be established in mountain and less-favoured areas, the grant intensity is 60% of the eligible budget of the proposal with a maximum grant amount of €60,000.

Interested parties can obtain the Project Guide which sets out all the details, the Model Application Form, the List of Required Supporting Documents and any other required form or document from the website of the Department of Industry & Technology (www.meci.gov.cy/sit), which they are encouraged to study carefully.

Please note that applications/proposals will only be submitted electronically via the ARIADNI - Provision Federation website during the proposal submission period to be determined by an announcement of the Ministry of Industry and Technology in the coming weeks.

It is stressed that the order of priority will be determined on the basis of the order of submission of proposals (direct evaluation) and the maximum amount of approvals will not exceed the available budget of the Call.
