Today, 25 February 2024, the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Marios Hartsiotis, will depart for Brussels to participate in the Informal Council of Ministers for Gender Equality of the European Union (EU), which will take place between 26 and 27 February 2024.
On the first day of the Informal Council, a meeting will take place between the members of the current trio Presidency of the Council of the EU (Spain, Belgium, Hungary) and the future trio Presidency (Poland, Denmark and Cyprus), where Ministers will have the opportunity to exchange views and discuss the priorities of the future Presidencies on gender equality issues.
The second day of the Council will be dedicated to gender equality, with the discussion focusing on the progress made in recent years, the exchange of best practices, as well as suggestions for achieving greater progress in this area.
The Minister will return to Cyprus on Tuesday, 27 February 2024.
