"The Ministry of Health aims to be close to the Cypriot patient and to further upgrade health services."

This was pointed out by Health Minister Michael Damianos, following his visit to the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre today.

Mr. Damianos assured that the Ministry of Health will continue to support the great work carried out by the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, which, he said, provides high quality services to Cypriot patients.

Asked when the order for the antiviral drug Paxlovid is expected to arrive in Cyprus, the Minister noted that the preparations are expected to be received tomorrow. Then, he added, they will be delivered directly to the pharmacies of the hospitals.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, Mr. Christos Triantaphyllides, thanked the Minister for his visit, which, as he stressed, confirms the very important role that the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre plays in the health sector in general and in the provision of care to Cypriot patients.
