Fully operational from todayo e-Law
On Thursday morning, December 21, 2023, the electronic case and file management system of the Legal Service of the Republic of Cyprus went into full production, which aims at uninterrupted monitoring of the progress of the work produced by the Service as well as the progress of pending cases.
The project, known as e-Law, was designed on the basis of the specific needs of the Legal Service of the Republic and its implementation is aimed at:
[*]Improving the organization and operation of the Legal Service, [*]facilitating and accelerating cooperation and communication between the officials handling cases, and [*]saving working time in connection with increasing efficiency and speed in completing the workload.
In particular, the operation of e-Law will achieve. [*]Easy retrieval of documents and reports, with immediate access to information. [*]Optimal management and monitoring of cases and data - Easier organisation and prioritisation of pending cases. [*]Reduction in the volume of paper documents handled internally. [*]Facilitate cooperation and communication between officials. [*]Reduction in the time taken to process work. [*]Improvement of working conditions for Legal Service officials.
e-Law is the largest and most substantial digital reform project of the Legal Service of the Republic, which since 2020, with the substantial assistance of the Ministry of State for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy began work on the introduction of a series of technological upgrading and digitization projects. The ultimate goal is to structure a more efficient framework for the management of the very large volume of work of the Legal Service.
For the implementation of e-Law, the Legal Service of the Republic has achieved as the cost of the project (implementation, right of use and maintenance), which amounts to approximately €1.5 million.
The tender for e-Law was announced on 11 November 2021 and with the collective effort of the Administration and the Legal Service's Law Departments, the project was implemented by the contractor company three months earlier than the time specified in the implementation schedule of the relevant Contract.
