[PIO] The General Accounting Office of the Republic organised training workshops on "Protection of the Union's Financial Interests" and "Civil

They were held on 9 and 10 April 2024, in Nicosia, training workshops on "Procedures for Ensuring the Protection of the Union's Financial Interests under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RSP) of the Republic of Cyprus" as well as on "Anti-Fraud Policy" and "Methodology for Fraud Risk Assessment and related Fraud Action Plan under the Recovery and Resilience Plan".

The workshops were organized by the General Directorate of Development, Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with the General Accounting Office of the Republic and were attended by implementing agencies, technical verification and monitoring agencies of projects and Grant Schemes of the SAP, as well as other stakeholders of the Plan, including auditing agencies. Presenters of all presentations were officials from the Directorates of Financial Control of European Funds and Public Procurement of the General Accounting Office of the Republic.

The second training workshop, held on 10 April 2024, was addressed to Contracting Authorities and Technical Verification Bodies, who were informed about the procedures to ensure compliance with national and EU public procurement policy, the procedures for preventing, detecting and correcting cases of fraud, corruption and conflict of interest in public procurement, the verification of public procurement projects, the handling of irregularities and complaints, the financial flows of SAA interventions and the adequate audit trail.
