The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Constantinos Kombos participated in the trilateral meeting of the Cyprus-Greece-Israel Foreign Ministers, which took place yesterday, 19 September 2023, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 78th UN General Assembly, in New York.
During the meeting, Mr. Kobos, together with his counterparts, Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis of Greece and Foreign Minister Eli Cohen of Israel, reaffirmed the strategic nature of the Trilateral Cooperation Mechanism and expressed their strong joint commitment to strengthening multifaceted cooperation, with the implementation of specific projects and actions in the coming period.
At the meeting, the Ministers noted the geo-military importance of the 3+1 (US) format for prosperity and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and underlined that they look forward to arranging a meeting at the level of Foreign Ministers soon.
In addition, the readiness of the Republic of Cyprus to participate in the Negev Step on the basis of the dynamics developed by the Abraham Agreements was stressed.
