[PIO] The Foreign Minister goes to Brussels to attend the Foreign Affairs Council and then to Paris for the ministerial meeting

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides will leave tomorrow, Sunday, for Brussels, where he will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council to be held on Monday, 21 February 2022.

The Foreign Ministers' discussions are expected to focus on, inter alia, the security situation in Eastern Europe, developments in the Western Balkans, Climate Diplomacy, as well as other current regional and international issues. In the framework of the Foreign Affairs Council, an EU-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministerial meeting will take place.

During his presence in Brussels, Mr.Kasoulides will hold contacts and bilateral meetings with the EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Mr. Josep Borrell, as well as with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock.

On Monday evening, the Foreign Minister will leave Brussels for Paris, where the French Presidency of the Council of the EU will host a ministerial meeting on international cooperation in the Indo-Pacific on Tuesday morning. He will participate in a round table discussion on international challenges regarding climate, health, biodiversity and oceans.

During his stay in Paris, the Foreign Minister will hold meetings with officials of the French National Assembly and Parliament.

The Foreign Minister returns to Cyprus on Thursday, 24 February.
