[PIO] The first screening of the documentary "Sanna - Our Language"

The first screening of the documentary "Sanna -Our Language", dedicated to the Cypriot Maronite Arabic Language (Sanna), took place last night at the RIK Archive.

The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Dr. Athena Michaelidou, the Director General of RIK Mr. Thanasis Tsokos, the Maronite Representative in the House of Representatives Mr. Mr. Yannakis Mousas, the President of the Refugee Committee of the Parliament Mr. Nikos Ketteros, the Mayors of Aglantzia and Strovolos Mr. Andreas Constantinou and Andreas Papacharalambous, the Commissioner of Legislation Mr. Tina, the President of the Marxist Party of Greece Mr. Tina, the President of the Marxist Party of Greece Mr. Yiannakis Mousas, the President of the Refugee Committee of the Parliament Mr. Nikos Ketteros, the Mayors of Aglantzia and Strovolos Mr. Andreas Konstantinou and Mr. Andreas Papacharalambous. Louisa Christodou Zanetou, the Director General of the Ministry of Interior Dr. Ellikos Ilias, the Director of Secondary General Education and General Coordinator for Religious Groups at the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Kyprianos D. Louis, other state officials, academics and members of the Maronite community.

In her address, the Minister of Education, Sports and Youth congratulated the contributors, and referred, among other things, to the efforts made by the Ministry of Education for the preservation and revival of the language since 2010. The Director General of RIK stressed that the organization has been supporting the religious groups of the country throughout time and is always willing to implement actions and synergies in order to promote them and preserve their particular identity. In turn, the Maronite Representative in the House of Representatives welcomed the excellent cooperation between the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, RIK and the Maronite community, emphasizing the very important steps that have been taken in recent years to save and revive the Sanna. Finally, the scriptwriter Michalis Terzis spoke about the production process of the documentary and the great effort made by its contributors.

This was followed by the screening of the documentary, which admittedly left an excellent impression. The event was presented by RIK journalist Kostas Michaelides.
