The Deputy Government Spokesman Mr. Yiannis Antoniou received today, on behalf of the President of the Republic, a bank cheque in the amount of €16,609.54, collected from the contributions made at the fundraiser organized by the Pancyprian Coordinating Council for Volunteerism (CCVV), in support of the flood victims in Greece. The cheque was handed over to Antoniou by the President of the Pancyprian Coordinating Council for Volunteerism, Mr. Elias Demetriou, at the Presidential Palace, in the presence of Council officials.
Mr. Demetriou referred to the immediate response of the Council when this great disaster occurred and the holding of a fundraiser in support of the flood victims.
He assured that the WCC is always at the disposal of the State and a supporter of any effort to support those affected by disasters in Cyprus and abroad.
For his part, the Deputy Government Spokesman praised the contribution of the PACE, conveyed the thanks of the President of the Republic and expressed the gratitude of the State for the work of the voluntary movement.
