The Project Engineering Office of the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway, Public Works Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works announces that on Thursday, 8 August 2024 at 12:00 noon, the First Phase (A1) of the Nicosia Perimeter Motorway will be handed over to traffic.
Phase A1 involves a motorway of approximately 7.5 km in length to connect the existing Nicosia - Limassol Motorway (A1) with Cheriou Avenue, as well as 10 km of link roads to restore connections with the existing road network. It includes an at-grade junction near the Industrial Area of Idalios for access to the Nicosia-Lemesos motorway in both directions, a bridge connecting the existing old Nicosia-Lemesos road (B1) with the Nicosia-Lemesos motorway (A1), an at-grade junction near the Industrial Area of Cheriou and a level terminal roundabout at the junction with Cheriou/Pefkos Avenue.
