The Honourable Members. Panicos Leonidou (leader), Marinos Moussioutta and Elias Mirianthous, members of the Cypriot delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy (IPA), are going to Italy, to participate in a visit of an IUCO delegation to the Greek communities of Sicily between 25 and 27 June and, subsequently, to the 31st General Assembly of the IUCO, to be held in Palermo on 28 and 29 June. The delegation will be accompanied by Mr. Vassilis Koliaris, International Relations Officer A of the Parliament.

The General Assembly will discuss the new role that the IOA is called upon to play, based on the conclusions of the International Political Conference of the Assembly, which was held in Thessaloniki last month, on the theme "Politics as a space for the expression of Christian values in everyday life".

During their visit to the Greek communities of Sicily, the IOA members will hold meetings with state and religious bodies and visit places of religious and cultural interest. As part of the visit, there will also be presentations of the IOA's tribute volume entitled "Hagia Sophia: The Temples of the Wisdom of God around the World", on Wednesday, 26 June, at the Town Hall of Messina and on Saturday, 29 June 2024, at the Regional Assembly of Sicily, in Palermo.
